Need help setting up and using your 5G Business Broadband hub? Here’s everything you need to know.

How to maximise your hub’s performance

Put your hub on a windowsill

Or as close to a window as you can. It's one of the most important factors in getting the best possible signal.

Keep the space around your hub clear

Items like photos, plants, curtains and blinds can reduce signal quality.

Test your signal quality

Download the Three app and use the signal strength indicator to find the best position for your hub.

Product support

To find your model number, look at the sticker on the base of your hub.

Frequently asked questions

We use 5G broadband to bring you an internet connection, just as we do on your phone. Instead of using fixed fibre technology, it uses 5G mobile technology, so you can use it on the go. 5G Business Broadband gives you superfast speeds online, allowing streaming, downloading, and increased capacity for multiple users.

Read our 5G Business Broadband buyer's guide to find out more.

Setting up my hub

It couldn’t be simpler – insert the SIM card into your hub, and plug the hub in. That’s it.

Try a few different places, and see where you get the best signal strength.

Avoid positioning your hub with obstacles between where it sits, and the place you’ll be accessing your broadband. Doors, walls, and even things like fish tanks can affect your connection.

We recommend placing it on a few different windowsills to see which direction gives you the strongest signal. If you have an upstairs window, this may also help improve the signal as it’s higher up.

If you have an indoor hub download the Three app for further support on whether your hub is in a good position or not. If you have an outdoor hub download the eero app for further support on whether your hub is in a good position or not.

There are few ways to do this. Firstly, if you’re replacing another provider’s hub, you can change your new Three Hub SSID/Wi-Fi network name to the same as your old one.  That way you won’t need to reset every device to the new name/password.

If you’re setting up a new Wi-Fi network from scratch, you’ll need to do this on every device you want to connect.  Go into the settings of each device and select the Three router name (the default name will be shown on the base of your hub – you can change this in the Three app if you wish).

If you don’t want to type in the password (also on the base of your hub), you can press the WPS button, which will allow any devices  to connect to your hub without  the password, but only for a limited time.

This depends on what devices you’re connecting, and what you’re doing with them. It also depends on which of our hubs you have. The MC888AD hub enables you to connect up to 64 devices.

It’s worth noting that the more devices you have actively connected and using the internet, the more your speeds may be impacted.

No.  The set up of Three Business Broadband is very quick, from delivery to set up. You’re likely to be on a fixed broadband supplier. You can keep this up and running until you get your Three hub, then take whatever time you need moving your devices across.

Please note that we won’t cancel your previous broadband for you – you'll need to do this.

Moving with my hub

Yes. As long as you’re still within our coverage area, you can plug your hub in and connect just as you did at your previous address.

You can check your coverage at your new address with our coverage checker at the top of this page. Performance may vary.

No static IP is available with our 5G Business Broadband. Most customers don't need one, unless (for example) a VPN is used to whitelist specific IPs.

Yes. And when your area becomes 5G enabled, your hub will automatically connect you. You can use the coverage checker at the top of this page to check the speeds available in your area.

Remember that 4G speeds are not as fast as 5G, and may compare differently to fibre speeds.

How to

This depends on the type of hub you have, visit the hub's device support page for specific instructions.

Yes. To do this, enable Wi-Fi calling on your business devices. How you do this may differ depending on the device. See how to enable Wi-Fi calling here.

Yes, but how you do this depends on the type of hub you have. Visit the hub's device support page for specific instructions.
