Three Device Security

Powered by Bitdefender, Three Device Security gives you enriched protection when using your smartphone or tablet to browse online.

What is Three Device Security powered by Bitdefender?

Three Device Security is an Add-on that helps improve your account privacy and web protection. Plus, it scans for any fraudulent activity and will notify you of any online threats.

The Three Device Security Add-on can only be added to 1 device and is available on both Android and iOS devices.

If you’re new to Three or are already with us on a qualifying plan, you can try Three Device Security for 1 month for free. This free trial is only available once.

When your free trial ends, the Add-on will automatically renew at £1 a month. You can cancel it at any time.

To get Three Device Security:

  •  If you’re a new customer:

You can get the Three Device Security Add-on when you purchase a qualifying plan online, in-store, or through our contact centre.

Your 1-month free trial discount will automatically be added to your account once you select the Add-on. You don’t need to do anything. Your free trial will start as soon as it’s been added to your account. So, make sure you activate it once you’ve received your text or email notification. We’ll send you a reminder if you’ve not activated after 2 days.

The qualifying plans include:

  • All Three Your Way Airtime plans
  • All Three Your Way SIM Only 12- and 24-month plans
  • Three Your Way Connect plans for tablets and laptops
  • Three Your Way Data SIM plans
  • Mobile Broadband on 12- and 24-month plans for Mi-Fi

You can use your Three Device Security Add-on on a smartphone or tablet, but only on 1 device at a time.

Once your Three Device Security free trial’s been added to your account, you’ll get an activation email and text.

Follow the link in the email or text to register with Bitdefender. Your email address will be your username, and you’ll need to set up a password.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll be taken to a page where you can download our Three Device Security app from the App Store, Google Play Store, or by scanning a QR code.

After you’ve installed the app, Three Device Security will enable secure browsing.

Remember: You can only use your Three Device Security account on one device at a time. If you download the app on another device and try to log in, you’ll get an error screen. You can use the service on another device if you log out of your previous device first.

Don’t worry; if you get in touch with us, we can re-send you the activation link.

You’ll get an email and a text to let you know your free trial is ending.

When it ends, the Add-on will continue at £1 a month unless you cancel it.

You can cancel it by logging into My3, using the Three app, or contacting us.

Please note: if you cancel mid-way through your bill cycle, you’ll still be charged for the full month. We can’t refund the charge.

If you cancel, you’ll get:

  • An email and a text to confirm that we’ve received your cancellation request. You’ll continue to receive Three Device Security until the end of your bill cycle.
  • A second email and text to confirm that your Three Device Security subscription has been cancelled.

When using the Three Device Security app, you may find that it affects your internet usage in some ways. If that happens, you can suspend it or change your settings.

Important: suspending the service will stop the app from protecting your device.

The following may be affected by using the Three Device Security app:

1. When using the adult content filter

If you have the adult content filter on, you should also disable Web Protection in the Three Device Security app. If it’s not disabled, the person using the device will be able to access age-restricted content. This is particularly important if children under the age of 18 use the device.

2. When visiting zero-rated websites

There are some websites we don’t charge you to visit or deduct from your data allowance. They’re sites that are important to be able to access, even when you’ve run out of data or credit. They include, but aren’t limited to:

  • NHS websites

If you access any of these sites while connected to our network (not Wi-Fi) and the Three Device Security app is active, you’ll be charged at our standard data rates or the data used will be deducted from your data allowance.

3. Access to some websites

Occasionally, some websites will block access from services that use technology used in the Three Device Security App. If this happens and you know the site’s safe to visit, you can suspend the app service. But please be aware that doing this stops your device from being protected.
